About me…
Hello! I’m Zoë, the artist and designer behind One Special Day.
Alongside my studio practice, I spent 25 years as an Art, Design, and Photography educator, including teaching the Arts in the USA. That time has shaped my belief in the importance of thoughtful making, care, curiosity, and a love of playful, confident detail.
Creativity has always been at the heart of my work. With a degree in Ceramics and a practice that now spans illustration, painting, mixed media and photography, my career has taken me from creating replica medieval pottery for Barley Hall in York to selling and exhibiting mixed media work across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.
One Special Day began as a wedding stationery business and has grown organically alongside me. Today, while working part-time with the NHS, I’m joyfully reconnecting with my own creative voice — producing original artwork, prints, cards, totes, brooches, and characterful pieces. My work is intuitive, colourful and will bring a sense of joy and motivational mojo into everyday spaces. I add sprinkles of my own trademark hand lettered, free flow font, and words we can all connect with.
You’ll find my work at craft fairs, exhibitions, and online. If you’re interested in a bespoke commission, or a specific piece you’ve seen on my socials, I’d be delighted to connect with you.
Zoë x
